Lindalee A. Lawrence, President

Ms. Lawrence is the founder and President of Lawrence Associates. She assists healthcare, academic and not-for-profit clients with executive compensation design, CEO compensation, salary comparison, wage and salary administration, salary surveys, job evaluation, organization design, incentive programs and pay for performance. She assists board members, management and associations in responding to public disclosure of executive compensation. She has been quoted in Modern Healthcare, Inside Higher Ed News, Monster, Great Boards, Physician Compensation Report (HCPro), The Boston Globe, Business New Hampshire Magazine, Cambridge Chronicle, Patriot Ledger and other media regarding executive compensation and pay practices.  Ms. Lawrence has over thirty years of experience working with employers in these areas.

Prior to forming Lawrence Associates in 1989, Ms. Lawrence was Manager of the Healthcare, Government and Financial Services Industries Human Resource practice for KPMG Peat Marwick in Boston. She spent four years with William M. Mercer, Incorporated, responsible for consulting in the areas of group employee benefits, medical cost containment and plan design, and has worked with collectively bargained employers and Taft-Hartley plans.  Ms. Lawrence is very familiar with HMOs and managed care, having drafted the original HMO regulations for the Massachusetts Division of Insurance under Jim Stone, now CEO of Plymouth Rock.

She holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.  Ms. Lawrence is a WorldAtWork Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

Ms. Lawrence is a member of the WorldAtWork, American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA), College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) and regional chapters.  She served on the national ASHHRA Committee on Variable Compensation. Ms. Lawrence is the author of the compensation chapter for the Health Care Administration Manual, winner of the 2007 ASHHRA Communications Award, published by Aspen Publishers. Richard M. Lucash, Principal

Richard M. Lucash is an attorney with extensive experience with Intermediate Sanctions and compensation issues.

 

He has advised hospitals, foundations, universities, colleges and private schools, other nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and technology and other entrepreneurial companies on executive compensation matters, including compensation levels, processes for complying with the IRS Intermediate Sanctions regulations, and transition issues.

 

While Lawrence Associates does not practice law, Mr. Lucash reviews employment agreements, and oversees all the regulatory updates, compliance notices and related aspects of Lawrence Associates’ reports, client checklists and advice.

Prior to joining Lawrence Associates, he founded a Boston law firm where he was a member of the management group and the Compensation Committee. In his legal practice, he focused on organizational, capital formation, founder and management compensation and other legal and business issues, and advised the organizations and individuals who invest in entrepreneurial and emerging companies. He has been actively involved with the venture capital community, and founded the LaunchPad angel investment group. With Lawrence Associates, he advises technology-based and other entrepreneurial and emerging companies on compensation and related matters.

Mr. Lucash holds an AV® (highest) rating for attorneys from Martindale-Hubbell. He holds a J.D. from the Cornell University Law School, and an undergraduate degree in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. [top]

Kenneth Kruger, Principal

Kenneth Kruger is President of Executive HealthSearch, Inc., a retained search firm and the Healthcare Human Resources Consulting Consortium, LLC, an association of respected professionals in human resources management and labor relations. Mr. Kruger is a senior executive with a consistent record of accomplishment in the areas of human resources and labor relations.  He has a reputation as a builder, visionary, strategic planner and problem solver with a proven expertise and success in negotiating, delivering quality service and developing and implementing effective policies and programs designed to meet organizational objectives in a changing environment.

As Vice President, Human Resources and Labor Relations, at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City he acted as chief spokesperson in the negotiation of numerous collective bargaining agreements. Among his key accomplishments are the establishment of successful incentive pay programs in a unionized environment, design and implementation of a flexible benefits program that was well received by the employees and significantly reduced costs, and the establishment of an award winning wellness program that resulted in a revenue producing corporate product. He is highly regarded in his field, holding trusteeships in a number of union benefit funds and leadership positions in a wide range of professional associations, including past president of the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA).  Mr. Kruger holds an MS in Industrial and Labor Relations from the New York Institute of Technology and an MBA in Health Services Administration from Wagner College in New York.

Mr. Kruger has presented at various Labor Relations and Human Resources Seminars nationwide and written extensively in the field of Human Resources and Labor Relations. His most recent book is "The Health Care Human Resources Administration Manual" an Aspen publication. [top]

Bruce Heintz, a principal in Heintz Consulting LLC, is a nationally respected management advisor who facilitates board, management and partnership groups through appropriate processes toward understanding, reaching consensus and the development of practical plans.  Additionally he conducts client and customer interviews and surveys to assess satisfaction and loyalty in order to implement relationship management enhancement programs.  Formerly a Partner in the management consulting division of Ernst & Young, he started and headed that firm's international practice with Professional Services Firms including law firms, accounting firms and consulting organizations.  Mr. Heintz holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Heintz assists clients with:  Strategic Planning; Management, Organization and Governance; Succession Planning; Client, Customer and Stakeholder Relationship Management; Retreat and Meeting Facilitation.

Senior Statistician, Analysts and Survey Specialists

Hongsheng Wu joins Lawrence Associates with extensive statistical and computer science training.  He has an MA in Biostatistics, and has a PhD from Boston University.  He has an MS, and  serves as an Associate Professor in Computer Science at Wentworth Institute of Technology.  He has been involved in a variety of computer science - related and statistical projects, including compensation surveys and analysis. Lisa Keary has a BA from Stonehill College and majored in mathematics with a minor in communications.  She is currently pursuing an MBA from Bentley College.  With Lawrence Associates she has worked on various mathematical, analytical and research projects, and coordinates multi-state compensation surveys.  She holds a Compensation Analyst Credential from ERI.
