The IRS is sending a
compliance questionnaire to 400 small, mid-sized, and large
public and private colleges and universities as part of a
new compliance project designed to give the IRS a better
understanding of this large component of the tax-exempt sector.
The questionnaire focuses on unrelated business income,
endowments, and executive compensation practices.
